EasyMailings Resources
Other Helpful Bulk Mail Sites
-
Postal Forms
- The US Postal Service provides many of its forms on-line for
free download. We have compiled a list of the most useful forms
for bulk mailing.
- USPS
Postal Explorer
- A great in-depth on-line resource for postal information. All
the quick service guides are here. In fact, the entire Domestic
Mail Manual is published here on-line. The search function
is very helpful.
-
USPS.com
- The official US Post Office web site. Recently revamped, we
found it confusing and hard to navigate, but you may find all
those graphics more to your liking. It has a wealth of
information and is targeted at bulk mailers in particular.
Helpful Links for Nonprofits
There are really tons of on-line resources out there for non
profits. The list below is a very small sample of what is
available. We have no affiliations with any of these sites but have
come across them while researching the market for this site.
Community
- The Internet Nonprofit Site
- A wealth of information for nonprofits. A huge selection of
frequently asked questions (FAQ's). For us, an example of
the real power of the net: connecting people and lowering the
barriers to information.
- Academy of Management
- A list of links and brief descriptions, much like this page.
Includes links to the next two sites.
- Nonprofit section of About.com
- We have not spent a lot of time here, but this site is very
active and publishes a good weekly newsletter. Very plugged in to
the on-line nonprofit scene. For example, they have a web page on technical computer
support for nonprofits.
- soc.org.nonprofit
Newsgroup
- A great place to lurk and read if you are in the nonprofit
world. A discussion group where people post their questions and
others answer. Click on the link, then type in
soc.org.nonprofit and then click search. You can also
subscribe via your newsreader.
Other On-Line Software
- Organizer's
Collaborative ODB
- The Organizer's Collaborative is a "nonprofit
membership organization composed of activists and technically
oriented people working to enhance grassroots organizing,
research, and movement building by social change
organizations." They have created a great database program
for managing your membership. It can help you track of
membership dues, donations and event attendence. You can
customize it easily to suit your individual needs. You can
download the ODB software from www.organizenow.net/odb.html.
- Social Ecology
- They provide three on-line software products: DonorLinkIT
(donor relationship management), OrgMailIT (group-based email),
and InWebIT (knowledge management system). They
are all geared specifically for nonprofits.
- eTapestry
-
Fundraising software that lets your donors log on and update
their contact information, track their progress towards gift
levels, view an on-line calendar for your organization, and
donate money on-line. The software is free if you have less than
1,000 donors. (To navigate their site, use the scroll bar all
the way on the right of the screen.)
- NetLedger
- Geared more for small business, it's like an on-line
version of Quicken. You pay a monthly fee ($4.95 for small
organizations) and you get an account where you log on and do
your accounting. Sorry, they don't do payroll yet ...
- The Nonprofit Software Index
- This isn't on-line software, but an on-line index of
software products for nonprofits. It's a comprehensive site
that is actively updated. Don't bother looking for us, we
haven't let them know about us yet, but will soon.
